Es importante conocer la mejor manera de conservar nuestro preciado perfume. Hay que tener en cuenta que se envasa en una botella herméticamente cerrada. El único proceso que podría afectarle sería la oxidación, por lo que si se mantiene sin uso tiene una larga conservación.
Una vez en uso, el oxígeno va sustituyendo al líquido que gastamos y la oxidación irá avanzando. El tiempo de uso recomendado depende del tipo de perfume y de los ingredientes que lo componen, por lo que no hay una fórmula estándar aplicable. Algunos componentes pueden llegar a ser muy numerosos, se considera corta una fórmula con cuarenta ingredientes puesto que algunos perfumes pueden tener hasta doscientos.
Si el criterio de uso personal es el de la popular frase «me lo guardo para ocasiones especiales», es interesante crear las condiciones para que una ocasión sea especial con la máxima frecuencia posible. El perfume podría guardarse, pero, una vez abierto, cualquier excusa es buena para utilizarlo y así utilizarlo en condiciones óptimas.
Si conservamos el perfume a baja temperatura se puede retrasar el proceso de degradación. En un mundo ideal podríamos pensar en que tuviera su propia nevera, como los buenos vinos, pero no está al alcance de cualquiera. Y, si pensamos en la nevera de la cocina, quizás no sea muy apetecible encontrar tu perfume mezclado con los alimentos… Eso sí, pensemos en el lugar más adecuado dentro de nuestras opciones. Aunque es muy habitual tenerlo en el cuarto de baño, los cambios de temperatura y el vapor caliente de la ducha no es lo más adecuado para su conservación, tenlo en cuenta, así como que no reciba luz directa.
